متولد دوم خرداد هستم - البته از نوع ۱۳۵۶اش - و آنهم در شهر اصفهان. در دبیرستان ریاضی- فیزیک و در دانشگاه سینما خوانده‌ام (کارشناسی و ارشد). مدتی به فعالیت‌ دانشجویی پرداختم، چند صباحی به نوشتن نقد فیلم و روزنامه‌نگاری مشغول بودم، و روزگاری را نیز در تلویزیون گذراندم.
از سال ۱۳۸۴ در گروه مطالعات فرهنگی دانشگاه ناتینگهام به تحصیل در مقطع دکترا با گرایش «نظریه ی انتقادی و مطالعات فیلم» مشغول شدم و در سال ۱۳۸۸ از رساله‌ی خود با عنوان «سینمای ملی و جهانی شدن» دفاع کرده و فارغ التحصیل شدم.

در این سالها - چه به صورت مستقل و چه در قالب دستیاری اساتید دیگر - در تدریس  درسهایی چون «جهانی شدن»، «تصور هویت ملی»، «فناوری‌های نوین رسانه‌ای»، «رسانه‌ها و ارتباطات جهانی» و «ارتباطات سیاسی» در دانشگاه ناتینگهام مشارکت داشته‌ام.

از آنجا که همسرم هم اینجا دانشجوی دکترای جامعه شناسی است، از سال گذشته بیشتر اوقاتم به خانه‌داری و بچه‌داری ‌گذشته است: تجربه‌ی جدیدی که خیلی چیزها به من آموخته است. در کنار این تجربه و با حفظ سمت، مدتی است که  مشغول تولید مجموعه برنامه‌های مستندی برای تلویزیون شده‌ام.
